Comic Book creator Roselinath invites you to an earth which is so near the end, thanks to a vicious plague, that it’s re-adopted a feudal system. A feudal system that see a huntress, Winter, searching for the King’s but what she finds is more than she bargained for in the first volume of ‘Division 5.’
Stumbling across an underground base which is the mysterious Division 5, Winter comes across the enigmatic and private pseudo-scientist, Arch Extent, who has spent years searching for a cure to the virulent cosmic plague. But is Arch Extent a friend of foe?
Roselinath does a great job in marrying up classic manga nuance with westernised social quips which lend to this volume feeling very fun, easy-to-digest and spontaneously exciting. Yes, there’s a light science fiction horror angle to the story but it doesn’t overshadow the story. A story that sees Winter tumble down the rabbit hole into a number of scenarios that will both scare and excite the reader. It feels Webtoon-ish but don’t be fooled - peel back the veil and you’ve got a mature storyline for teens as well as adults.
If you enjoy properties like Helix or Outbreak with some added Manga quirkiness for good measure then you’ll love this comic.
